WASHINGTON:
We are over half way through the 2018 harvest and under perfect conditions. The perfect days, warming to the upper 70’s to low 80’s only to plunge down to the 40’s when the sun goes down. Couldn’t ask for better weather. The cool nights retain acidity and brightness and warm days provide enough hang time to physiologically ripen the fruit. Perfect to gain flavors and not add copious amounts of sugar - that’s why the Northwest is such a great place to make wine. A great opportunity to come to our home in Yakima Valley or the Willamette Valley to take in the harvest bounty!
OREGON
After an exceptionally warm summer with more 90+ degree days in the Willamette on record, harvest is under way. We picked Durant Vineyard in Dundee Hills early last week. Anna’s Vineyard, our estate in Chehalem Mountain, is pictured here being harvested on September 19th.
Stay tuned for bright full bodied 2018 Pinot Noirs!
