It's Tasting Tuesday with Greg & Patty and today, we tasted the 2016 Anna's Vineyard Pinot Noir and 2010 Union Gap Vineyard Blend. We chose these wines because they are both estate grown by Owen Roe, in the Willamette Valley and Yakima Valley.
Our March Wine Club release is coming up and these two wines will be featured, along with a few others from our Tasting Tuesday videos. We do these videos for many reasons, hoping that you will get to know our team and our wines, and also to start the process of creating our tasting notes.
TASTING NOTES
2016 Pinot Noir, Anna's Vineyard - Chehalem Mountains AVA 30% Pommard, 70% 115
70 cases made
A mouthwatering nose of vanilla and milk chocolate dominates while underlying hints of hazelnut, quince paste and red raspberry linger across the palate. Gripping acidity creates a full mouthfeel and while this wine is still quite young, the warm 2016 vintage aids in early enjoyment, with 1-2 hours of decantation. The wine will continue to develop for 6-8 years with proper cellaring.

2010 Union Gap Vineyard Blend - Yakima Valley
40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec

The first of its kind, this introduction to our "Signature Series" is all estate fruit and blends together the best of our Yakima Valley vineyard. With 6 years of cellaring time, we are thrilled with the current state of this wine. Aromas of green pepper and olive swirl in the glass, while complex layers of black pepper, coffee and dark chocolate round out the mouthfeel. A spicy mid-palate with nice acidity and supple tannins is mouth-coating and opulent. Drink now through 2020.
