The last 2017 pick for Oregon!

On this very cold morning, we picked the final crop for the 2017 Oregon harvest. We had frost in the lower areas of the Willamette Valley and in the Eola-Hills, temperatures hovered in the upper 30’s. Beautifully farmed and ripe Crawford Beck Pinot Gris hung on through the long growing season until today. It delivers great fruit flavors with tremendous acidity. These past several weeks of cooler, dry weather held the delicate fruit esters in the grape, and preserved this grape’s natural minerality.

2017 in Oregon is ripe and the thicker skins give us lots of flavor and nice tannins. This vintage will have vibrant fruitiness and exceptional freshness with the higher acids desirable in world-class Pinot Noir. This vintage is a great year for Oregon!!
